It wasn’t quite what I expected from the blurb, as the chapters are connected but non-linear and episodic, featuring different characters and different timelines or versions of reality. I found the structure delightfully playful, but was definitely drawn much more to some chapters/stories than others.

It was still a brilliant read for a novice philosophy and ethics fan. A definite must read for anyone who loves to ask “what if…”.

This book is very messy in the sense of trying to understand the timeline and how certain characters connect.  Everything only comes together in the last three episodes. I did love the order of the episodes and really liked Arthur as a character.

This book is really weird. Like... super weird. But not in a bad way. Its unlike anything I've ever read, in terms of plot and genre. And the way it ties up at the end is just... *chefs kiss*.

A lot of people don't "get" this book but I did. It ties in themes of loss and grief with the sci-fi and preternatural (not quite supernatural) in a unique and interesting way. It's not until the end of the book that you realise why the references to computer code are in the beginning chapters. Absolutely genius. Mad, but genius.
