4.5 for me! Loved how we got see more from the characters and the story was very fast paced. Can't wait to start the next one.

** re read this to remember what happened and enjoyed it just as much. I am dropping the rating to 4 stars because the pacing wasn’t as much fun the second time around.

Honestly...
I don't think this book's the best one from the series (not even as the 2nd one), but I have to admit it has a lot of iconic moments:

Percy + Annabeth's reunion & falling into Tartarus (XD),
Annabteh finally getting the attention she deserves, Nico’s comeback, etc.

• A little out of context but... I don't get the Jason hate.

I finish a 600pg long book in a day and what do I get as a reward?? PROBABLY THE BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER OF THIS SERIES?? My brain is fried and with last bit of energy left in me, I am itching to dive into the next book right now. Thank you Rick Riordan for spoiling my sleep tonight. I was actually kind of disappointed with this book... I thought this was going to be a huge Annabeth book where we really got to see her powers on display--but not really? It's actually kinda largely forgettable. OR I wanted her to get messy and illogical for once because of Percy being gone? Or get taken over by ghosts and really do some damage as the leader? Nothing. Like it was a high stakes thing that didn't grip me like he usually does until... the spider's web! That was good. I think that because her powers aren't as visible (and the other character's are pretty creative problem solvers as well), she needed a bit more to highlight what makes her particularly special.

That said... the ENDING! This man should write a romance novel because I am so invested! As if they haven't been through enough?? Extra .25 stars. Almost added a full half star. lol

Not sure what to say. I half remembered (barely) some of the plot points. I guess because it's Percy Jackson I feel like there are no stakes since I'm confident everyone will make it out alive(ish). Was still entertaining. I enjoyed seeing them work together for once. Mr. B had a nice voice even though he was annoying.
