Dev loves his job as a producer on Ever After (a fairytale version of The Bachelor), and despite his poor luck with love and the show's track record, really believes in happily ever afters and true love. Nervous Charlie is a former tech wunderkind who was kicked out of his own company for his strange behavior. Ever After wants new blood on the show, and Charlie's agents want to give him a new image, so Charlie is chosen as an unconventional Prince for the show with Dev as his handler. Charlie really struggles with performing on the show, but doesn't seem to have any problem being around Dev...

I read this for my 12 books, 12 friends, 12 months challenge, and I'll be honest I wouldn't have if it wasn't! I had my doubts about this book, but when I gave it a chance I had tons of fun.

I liked the banter between these two and the humor, which had me snorting every once in a while. I liked the side characters a lot. The Bachelor setup was campy and fun and just the right amount of the book. The main pull is for these two characters, though. Both of them go on journeys of discovering what it is they really want and what lies they've been telling themselves or others. They both have mental health crises and help each other through them. I also think they spend more time together than the average romcom couple does, so that's a good thing for their relationship. They grow a lot and while their conflict management could use some work in the book, I think that they've learned by the end to maybe not drop off the face of the Earth for months. Also, there was a lot of great representation in here that I think was done justice: anxiety, OCD, possibly autism, clinical depression, demisexual, gay.

Overall, this one was a surprise delight that I'm glad I gave a shot.

This book was so cheesy and horrible in the best way I adored it so much. There were times I felt like Dev broke character and I wish his mental health was expanded on because I feel like he has more than depression going on but man I adored everything about this book. the characters and descriptions were wonderful, dialogue could be a bit awkward but American's do talk differently. It's in the same genre and feel as RW&RB and Boyfriend Material which I loved those too. A perfect Rom-com tbh
