A beautiful story. It touches on the impact of grief and the journey of getting through that. Each character was beautiful in their own way and played amazingly into the story. This book will capture you and make you feel as if you’re witnessing everything from the sidelines. I’d highly recommend this read to anyone who loves a page turner that channels your deepest emotions and loves a book full of feeling and heart. I love this book, writer is amazing.

I've loved most of Kristin Hannah's novels I've read so far...but this one was a bit of a dud for me.  The pace of the first half was incredibly slow, and the Farraday Family seemed like characters out of a cheesy Hallmark movie.  The second half of the story became much more interesting with better character development, and the plot stared to pick up...then the story ended a bit suddenly.  Hoping to find more of Hannah's usual well-rounded & dynamic characters in one of her other novels (her historical fiction is excellent)!

I really enjoyed this book, a very emotional story with heavy topics of loss + grief, and relationships of friends, siblings, and parents. Sharing the emotional toll a loss can have on a family, and the strength it takes to find ways to continue on in life.
