A book that everyone should read. Also helpful to read alongside Marcus Aurelius' Meditations.

probably the best book I read in 2017. a calendar-type-book where you read one/pages for the pre-specified date. a great introduction to stoicism!

At the start of the year, I would have rated this book higher. It's still a good book, but as I looked at other Stoic literature, I realised it largely discussed a fairly narrow (and potentially Americanised) branch. Holiday is a good writer, and well read, but it verges on becoming very similar to the ever-increasing category of self-help books. And Stoicism goes far wider than discussing only that.

For all those who want a little bit of concentrated stoicism every day.

A library borrow's worth of daily reads. Could see purchasing in the future.
