This book was awful. It was the age old Indian concept of two people falling in love but facing opposition from their families. The reason I decided to read this book was that I thought that Bhagat might tell the story from a fresh new comedic perspective. It was anything but that, though.
Some situations, especially the wedding, was over the top. He was trying to be funny but ultimately it doesn't work. What we get is a movie script disguised as a novel.
One of Bhagat's many weaknesses are his characters. He makes his characters too whiny or annoying. I found Krish's mother to be particularly irritating in the book.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Perfect sick day read. Fun and easy, and could be read in a day. I was very engaged in the plot, although I didn’t love the main characters. I thought the ending with the father saving the day was a bit contrived. However, I haven’t been exposed to differences between North and South Indian culture and specifically weddings, so I felt I learned a bit about that!
