FINALLY we have arrived at the spice, and it did not disappoint! This story is very different from ACOTAR, but I can't help but feel that it runs along a similar vein; and as a consequence of that, I find myself comparing - particularly Slade to Rhysand. While I'm happy Auren is independent and refuses to be a damsel, I can't help but want Slade to do SOMETHING to save her. He's got all this power and yet at each turn he's held up from intervening or saving her, and it's definitely interfering with my ability to love him. I also thought it was a little silly just how evil Midas turned out to be. I could accept him being a villain but this book makes him this super mega villain that was harder to believe.

But in any case, I am very much enjoying this story and will be finishing the series and recommending to all my bookish friends!

4.5/5, definitely the best one yet in the series, i devoured this book, slade’s povs were everything, midas getting the hate he deserved, auren’s growth it was so refreshing, i love the slower pacing of these books it pulls me in and draws out the story in a delicious way. only half star was because malina’s parts were a bit boring but i have hope she gets fleshed out more in the next book!

Absolutely love this series. Auren’s growth in this book/series was inspirational. And the slow burn was so worth It.
