This may be my favorite fantasy book ever. I guess if I was going to give any critiques I would say that I found it hard to visualize the setting at times. With that said, it does not matter THIS BOOK IS AMMMMMMAZZING!!!! It is just brilliant in so many ways. Though there are a lot of characters, Muir manages to make them all very distinct and interesting. I listened to this via audible before I read the paperback. I would recommend doing both. The audible narrator is brilliant and does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. The big difference when reading versus listening was that when I was reading I was able to get a slightly better grasp on the setting. If you can only do one, I would opt to listen via Audible.

Rounding this up to 4 stars, took me an awful long time to finish or even get into. Sometimes I was a little bit confused of what was going on, in detail, or who was who bc of the different names for each character (found the "character list" and word explanations only after reading, would I have found them earlier it might have been less confusing(one of the disadvantages of eBooks)). But it does have some interesting world building and some enjoyable characters and some twist and turns that I did not foresee.
