What a character, my first time engaging to the thoughts of an adulterous anti-heroine! Comedic features were all over these letters, for sadness and distress were not absent as well. Though all her companions and parties were to be pitted, my heart was stressed for pure Frederica, such a young spirit being wretched by a narcissistic force of a mother.

Lady Susan perfectly reflects the life for many young women in the 1800s, and the sad importance of a mothers acceptance in marriage. The arrogance and manipulate way of thinking which Lady Susan possesses, makes the love stories in the book nothing but twisted and toxic. An exciting, dark, fast read that makes you root for a bad guy. Or a woman.
