This was actually my first experience with vampires! I KNOW don’t come at me!!

I thought this was a unique blend of horror and personal exploration, presenting a narrative that challenges traditional notions of vampirism and delves into the intricacies of human relationships. While it may not resonate with everyone, especially those seeking a more traditional horror experience, it provides a thought-provoking and entertaining read for those interested in character-driven supernatural tales.

I was very close to DNFing the audio because I couldn’t stand how whiny Naomi, the best friend, was but I have listened to so much Brittany Pressley that I knew there was a purpose behind it.

The novel delves deep into the complexities of female friendships, portraying the bond between Sloane and Naomi as both empowering and tumultuous. Their interactions drive much of the narrative's emotional depth.

While I don’t have any similar titles to compare it to, I thought this one was well done and I will definitely be reading more of Rachel Harrison’s work!

this book is the epitome of The Lost Boys vibe "sleep all day, party all night, never grow old, never die". We all need friends who manage their midlife crisis and birthday blues by flirting with creatures of the night.

Omg, I loved this so much. Had I known this would be exactly what I needed, I would've read it earlier! My bookish twin, @caseybeebooks, lovingly sent me her extra signed copy of this as a gift and I'm so glad she did because I'm OBSESSED. She knew I would be.

It's a little gory at times, it's romantic, it's feminist, it's relatable. Sloane, the main character, is me. Genuinely I've never related to a character so much in my LIFE. I loved the growth of her character here and loved the best friendship she has with Naomi.

I'm such a big fan of Rachel Harrison now and I can't wait to read more of her work! She blended horror, romance, and humor seamlessly.

Final verdict: loved it!
