I’m always happy to read a Rachel Harrison book! On the actually-frightening meter of Harrison’s oeuvre, this was closer to Black Sheep than The Return, but how can you say no to Thelma and Louise meets Near Dark meets The Dud Avocado?

I love Rachel Harrison’s approach to cosy adjacent horror, and every book I’ve read I’ve devoured in a day or two.

Sloane and Naomi’s friendship screams from the page. This is such a fun, blood-soaked ode to female friendship, your thirties, loosening up and learning how to live (again). I’ll always recommend Harrison’s books as “excellent intros to horror and to feminist lit with a bit of romance on the side”

I took a little too long to get through this one, but overall I found it enjoyable! I am definitely a fan of Rachel Harrison’s writing. I found it funny but also relatable, and I enjoy the comments she makes on society and the pressures put on women. Would recommend!
