As a stand-alone novel i enjoyed this book but as a follow-up to The Notebook it doesn’t compare. They are very different in style and format and i found that the explanations in this book also take away from the mystery and ambiguity of the first, which to me is a bit disappointing. An overall good novel, with good pacing and a very interesting writing style but a part of me wishes i hadn’t been forced to read it for school as i loved the first book of the series so much.
