Stuck between a rock and a hard place Garrett finds himself hating the woman who is his father's protégé while at the same time lusting after her. So when his father dies unexpectedly he has no choice but to work closely with Rory. Will she continue to feel he is an entitled prince? Or will she finally see him as the determined and hard worker he now chooses to be? There were many levels of pain in this story and Karla Sorenson dealt with them in an true and honest fashion. Not everyone loves what they are doing until they find an inner peace with why they were placed there. Finding love at the same time only makes the deal a little sweeter.

I have loved every one of Karla Sorensen's books so far, and GARRETT lived up to my expectations. I loved Aurora's character, and I loved the chemistry between the two of them. Karla writes a magical love story and I can't wait for Tristan's story!

The Bachelor's on the Ridge series is my favorite ongoing companion series right now. I just absolutely LOVE these boys (but seriously, dibs on Tristan) and when I found out Garrett was then next guy to get a story, I was over the moon.

Sorensen caught me off guard with Dylan, book one in the series (FYI - all can be read as a standalone) because she was so damn TALENTED and I felt like I'd found a shiny author diamond in the rough. Just like the first book, Garrett was hilarious, punchy, filled with character depth and I smiled the entire time I read it. I just LOVE that feeling.

That being said, Sorensen added something I was not expecting with this book: HEAT. From the first kiss to the last, the tension and passion between these characters were off the chart!

Aurora has my heart, because she is a SPITFIRE. Those are my favorite types of heroines. She hasn't had it easy and she works hard for everything she has. On top of that, she's got grit - true grit - and she's not afraid to own it.

But then there's Garrett, and boy if anyone would throw Rory off her game, it'd be him. I loved both of their backstories and how they leaned on each other, and I especially appreciated the moments between them where sparks flew (food fight, anyone?!).

Overall, I am yet again impressed with Sorensen's writing style and knack for smart, witty humor. This series is high on my list of TBRs and I can't wait to get the next installment. And just for the record...

DIBS ON TRISTAN.

**3.5**

GARRETT was a fun and sexy enemies to lovers slash employee/boss love story. There was an abundance in high intensity of unwanted and unwarranted feelings between Garrett and Rory that stemmed from deep-seated emotional issues. A good one-step-forward-two-steps-back sort of thing. Their tango started immediately and only intensified as things progressed. Garrett felt unique in that he wasn't a ball-buster or a macho man, not really, and that he was very open. Rory, at times, was much too harsh and brash, but considering her life story that's not a hard reach.

I enjoyed the playful banter and premise of how they got to where they're currently stuck with GARRETT. I love enemies to lovers stories just by principle. What I would have liked more of is a bit more of a connection between the two main characters. There were jabs and kicks, but at times I never felt the hidden sexual tension between them underneath those spikes. Without it, it can feel less sexy and more of my pitying a certain character. Aside from that, I really did enjoy seeing their relationship progress to something more and how each character found their way. I would recommend this to those who enjoy hate-love narratives with quite a bit of spiciness.

This was another fun read. Aurora and Garrett are a cute couple. It's an enemies-to-lovers workplace romance, which I liked. The "enemies" is a bit of a stretch honestly because even though they couldn't stand each other, they clearly had great chemistry. I thought that their main issue bring the fact that they both jumped into things without really thinking was an interesting way for them to figure out what they need, which was of course each other. Their banter was fun and it was nice to see how their relationship developed.

I am kicking myself that it took so long to read the second book from this series because I loved it. It will definitely not take me a long time to read book 3 in this series. So many funny moments and this was definitely what I needed to read after reading so many arcs.

This was so fun - I was really into the hate to love vibe between Rory and Garrett. I did feel some of Rory's reactions to things Garrett said were over the top. Especially after they started dating and she had gotten to know who he was as a person more, it just didn't always sit right with me. But overall this was enjoyable.
