its getting a little over the place
i miss...

mellow and near
hmm
mellow = yurio - yuri and victor and otabek and yakov maybe
i like it
but i am still undecided about both of them

Sin el equilibrio moral de su adversario, Light resulta muy molesto. Los nuevos retos tratan de estar a la altura, pero no lo logran. El asunto está empezando a resultar cansado.

It's funny seeing how egotistical and manipulative Mello and Light are

wow, this got bad quickly...

rating- 3.25
it was definitely better than the last one in terms of action. however i still am not enjoying Mello as a character. i do like near but the only insight is about his thinking and not on a personal level like we got for light. i still enjoyed how sayu got saved and the twist of the events. i enjoyed the humour by matsuda and misa. i did not like the introduction of a new shinigami. it was an okay book.

unfortunately, this series went downhill for me. this is probably the last volume i'll read because i don't want to waste my time, energy (and money) just to finish off a series i'm just not (as) invested in. (*) i'm still somewhat curious to know how it'll end (even tho i don't care as much about the characters and story as i used to) so i'll probably watch the anime instead.

(*) i've read these volumes really close together so i might give a few months and eventually pick up volume 9 if i'm feeling like it (?) that probably won't happen tho; normally that only makes me more detached from the characters and story. but hey, there's a chance, i'm not writing off the possibility ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

**Spoilers below! (reviews are imported from Goodreads and Storygraph deleted the spoiler tags and I'm too lazy to add them for every book individually lol)**

I actually think this volume is rather boring. It's not enjoyable when Light is the only one deducing and everyone around him just agree with him because they don't know it better. The plot was okay, but of course the woman has to be saved by a bunch of men.
To be honest, I'm on nobody's side: I don't want neither Light nor Near nor Mello to win - I don't like any of those. I'm probably with the Japanese police just because I love Matsuda and Aizawa.

It's the first time I noticed some inconsistencies in the story. Like I read in another review, why does Light suddenly care for his family so much? At the beginning, he even was ready to kill them. And another unanswered question: How did Mello become so influential? After all, he's just a random kid (I think he's 19?).

The only thing I truly enjoyed were the interactions between Ryuk and Shidoh and Light getting angry at Ryuk. I have the same problem with Shidoh though that I had with Rem at the beginning - both are just there for convenient plot reasons and interfere randomly in the human world.

Light is disgusting to Misa as always and I still don't like Near and Mello - it becomes hard to say anything about the single volumes without repeating what I already said before.

Death Note
➳ rating for the whole series: 3.8

Mello is making it exciting again with his challenging side, I think he's a great match for Kira.
Although Kira is not as interesting as in the beginning, with all his idea to make the world right and safe, but he's neglecting the fact that he's making it worse by killing people even innocent righteous ones, his twisted thinking is making him a criminal more then the criminal of his world.

As for Misa, I don't know if that girl have any brain left to think how she's being used just for her power, yet am hoping she'll eventually clear up the clouds that are blinding her an make sth worthy for once.

Also Near, is so interesting, his cute, weird character reminds me of L, still I can't get over the first L, but am hoping to see more of him in the next vol.
