Cute and quirky

This is a cute and quirky cozy mystery with witches, wizards, warlocks, familiars, pixies etc.

Alf is a witch who has turned away from her craft after an incident in her childhood. She inherits an inn and exiles she is going to restore it and run it as a business. However the day she arrives she finds a body and discovers there is no shortage of people, magical and mundane alike, who do not want her to succeed.

The mystery is intriguing with lots of red herrings and the climactic scene is exciting. This is the first book in a series so there’s more to come from the wonky witch.

I so enjoyed this deliciously quirky (and, yes, wonky!) story. I expected it to be good but it is much better than that. I'm not sure how to slide this entertaining story into a genre 'slot' but I also don't think it's very important to label it with anything other than "a surprisingly wonderful adventure". I love it and I highly recommend it and sincerely hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. It also deserves special mention that it is free of bad language.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this ebook from the author for which I am delighted and thankful. This is my honest review which I volunteered to post. Thank you for your gift, Jeannie Wycherley, it is much appreciated.
