I wasn't fond of the Jabez storyline in this book and the main characters, especially Maureen, were stereotypes. The story was still sweet and readable though. The fact that the Daisy Bellamy storyline cuts into these books is really starting to annoy me though. In this book in particular it felt like an intrusion and really took away from the book. I skim read the Daisy bits as quickly as possible to get back to the main storyline and I'm finding Daisy to be quite a bore as it's always the same things every time she enters the books (single mother, teenage mother, photographer, student, confused about Julian, we get it...). I think it's also odd because if you were dipping into this series you'd have no idea why there are 3-4 chapters about this other girl in this book, it wouldn't make any sense at all... Anyway, I shall keep reading and hope that after I've read the book all about Daisy that she will no longer take away from everyone else's stories in the future.

A good Christmas-in-July read. :) I will keep reading this series. I love the characters.
