holy freaking crap THE ENDING
aoisdjf ads;
i had to just sit on the couch in silence
there were two pages left and i didn't think anything crazy couldl happen in two pages but i was WRONG
there were some excellent scenes between our two favorite detective partners but that last scene really took the cake and i cant believe there's not another book out yet for me to find out what happens next
im really dead
overall a great mystery novel, the cult was pretty scary but honestly easy to not get caught up in, i'll have to re-read again to figure out all the hints
dang

I thoroughly enjoyed this installment in the series. It was a welcomed and unexpected change to have a book where the reader generally knows who the 'bad guy' is and gets to watch the detectives investigate and prove the expected crimes. Although this book was on the longer side, I was captivated and itching to pick up the book each time I put it down.

OMG, the best book in the series up to now and one of the best books I've read in ages!

With every Robert Galbraith book I always end up confused, never knowing "whodunnit" and this book again.... what a plot twist in the end! And then the cliffhanger....

I need book 8 ASAP!

The Universal Humanitarian Church is a cult that targets  people with money and brainwashes them into turning over assets to the church. People are indoctrinated at Chapman Farms thru deprivation and faked appearances of The Drowned Profit  - supposedly Papa Js (cult leader) daughter who disappeared while smashing on ocean. Her body was never found. She was actually killed at the farm by her evil half sister. Cormoran and Robin are hired by a wealthy family to get their son out of the cult.

This was my favorite of the series so far. The plot is a bit complicated, but I really enjoyed it. I absolutely love the characters of Strike and Robin.
