3.5 down graded to 3. Actually, the book is good. But the focus is on a religious cult, and it got pretty wearing to be reading about the cruel and degrading actions of the cult leaders to the members. I personally felt it went on much too long and shorter with the same effect. So that’s my primary criticism.

Disappointed this seven bucks series has come to an end. This one had a challenging story that involved a cult, made me turn away a few times before I could read further. However, overall, it was an engaging story with pathological criminals and two detectives you were rooting for

Decent entry into the Strike and Robin series.  While fascinated by cults, this was definitely to read at times with some of the torture.  I do like seeing some of the other agents in their investigative team and would like more into them.  Liked where the Becca thread was going, but was sad that that wasn't the way it was ended.

Sigh. I don’t want to like these books but I do. I devour them like no other books. I stay up late reading instead of falling asleep after 2 pages.

And I think this one had the most interesting (and terrifying) plot yet.

But. This is the first time I felt like I didn’t even really like Strike. Like, fuck dude, get a therapist. And the low-key misogyny? I just. No.

It’s also possible he’s always been like this and it’s me who’s changed.
