Shocked. No use of the N word. 
BUT leave it to King to add other problematic thinking nonetheless. 
More interesting than I thought it would be, but written as to sympathize and root for Charlie. Which felt too much like a incel wet dream sequence especially the reaction the classmates have.

Follows a troubled boy who holds his classmates captive - a controversial book that is no longer available. Kings writing is engaging and tense. A book I enjoyed reading and finished in two sittings. I understand the controversy and kings decision to stop its publication.

I never would have even considered reading this book until I was told it would be incredibly difficult to obtain a copy, naturally this peaked my interest. The description I was provided was pretty vague of a “school shooting” scenario. After reading the book, I’d say that portion of the plot was not the main story line at all. It was an interesting read - perhaps a controversial opinion: I found it more to be Catcher in the Rye (never happy middle class kid) meets Lord of the Flies with excessive violence sprinkled in.

Not my favorite King book but it’s crazy how you can feel sorry for someone who really doesn't deserve it. It is an interesting read that’s for sure
