This is my first time reading a comedy by Shakespeare, and I absolutely love the way he writes teasing and banter, especially between Beatrice and Benedick. It took me a while to start liking Benedick, honestly he's a bit of a fuck boy for the first half of the play, but by the second half he's delivering beautifully poetic lines about his love. My only complaint is that Beatrice's character arc as a headstrong independent woman is undermined by her ending up marrying Benedick

The perfect entry point for Shakespeare. I always recommend Much Ado to anyone wanting to get into his works. Beatrice and Benedick are two of my favorite characters of all time.

This was one of the less enjoyable Shakespearian plays I have had the pleasure of reading. It was still readable. I don't know if I enjoyed it less because this play is intended to be a comedy and I prefer the tragedies. Perhaps one day I shall get to see it performed and I will change my mind.
