I'm in awe. Their mind also scares me a little. But I think they know it does.

It’s always hard for me to critique a memoir. I love Emezi’s writing and this was no exception, but the organization of this was a little challenging to follow. Still a worthwhile read.

This was a very interesting memoir, definately check the trigger warnings but I found the way that Emezi talks about there gender and like experience of being in a human body to be like deeply fascinating.
For sure check the trigger warnings through, my goodness

Singular. Bold. Self aware. Unapologetic.
Formatted as letters to friends of the author. We witness Akwaeke's deeply personal writing over the expanse of several life altering events. Emezi's writing holds no comparisons.
I'm now more than ever excited to read Freshwater.
Do not read without checking warnings.
