Wowowowowowow! I loved this book! The story was so good, the obsession was next level, and the twists and turns and escalations… exceptional! Also appreciated and enjoyed both endings.

Alana’s fiancée Jake has passed. And her best friend, her fiancée’s twin brother, Jayce has stepped up in a big way to support her. Little does she know that Jayce has been waiting for her for 12 years. Obsessing and watching, and now he is getting closer. But she looks at him and sees Jake, and Jayce can’t stand that. So he decides to mask up, and live out some of his fantasies with Alana as a masked admirer, Erebus. He will make her his Nyx. It is all going a little too well though…Is it possible to be jealous of yourself?

I'm going to give this book a high review because Jayce is so crazy and the lengths he goes to truly has me shaking my head. Also, because the book has 2 endings, a happy one and a very NOT happy ending. It's up to the reader to decide but I'll admit I read both endings. Just prepare yourself because the things Jayce does is out there. Check the book for warnings. This novel centers around love, killings, unaliving, stalking, twins, murder, a lot of kinks, and masked man.

Jayce is in love with Alana. Problem? She has been dating his twin brother. Now that brother has died. The things Jayce is willing to do for Alana? Really, no one has a clue! 🤦‍♀️Jayce says he's Alana's savior but he might also be her ruin and downfall. Jayce's plans are so elaborate and unhinged. This quote by Jayce pretty much sums it up and there are so many quotes to pick from: "Ever since my brother brought her home when we were all fourteen, something had been festering inside of me. An obsession, perhaps. I was fixated on her. Not just her, but the idea of becoming something she couldn’t escape and, eventually, didn’t want to escape."

It's how Jayce gets involved with Alana that is disturbing. Jayce presents 2 sides of himself. Alana is scared, compliant, and doesn't really fight that much. I do think Jayce had Alana figured out all along. Man how many people died in the writing and research of this novel? 🍷💐😂 It feels very Dexter. Beware of basements and gurneys, apparently.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

jayce is so deranged and i’m a fan. 🙂‍↕️ i didn’t know what to expect when reading this book, but it was such a fun and wild ride.

i felt so bad for alana because of everything she went through. my petty ass wouldn’t even know how to keep it together, so props to her.

i didn’t know how i would feel about a certain someone whose name also starts with an A, but i ended up loving them. they were so adorable lol.

i ended up reading the ending with the HEA because i didn’t want to cry and i loved it. jayce and alana belong together forever! with A. 🙂‍↕️

WHEWOWEEEEEE this book! Not only was this book well written, it had me hooked from the very beginning. I’m just having a hard time even writing about this book because it had me speechless. Like- Haunting Adeline speechless… I really, really enjoyed it!! I can only imagine Ms DeRose’s search history. I mean, why hide a body when you can just turn it into compost to make wine 🤷‍♀️ who woulda thought?

The plot was THICC and it was so well planned and so well thought out! With how everything turned out in the end, (I read both HEA and non-HEA for review purposes) the good ending because I’m a sucker for that shit, it concluded in such a smooth way. There were so many plot twists and connections that I didn’t even see coming! I don’t want to spoil anything, seriously, but I can’t get over how much I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

Thank you Ms DeRose for giving me the opportunity to read this early, and I hope that when release day comes it sells out!!

This book had me hooked and it's perfect for spooky season! But check the TW if you need to, although if you can handle them, my dark romance fans will enjoy this one!

I love how unhinged Jayce was and  also how unapologetic he was about it all!  I'd take his justifications for his actions any day and SWOON.  The way he's loved Alana for years despite her being with his twin brother had me rooting for them.  There's a perfect amount of spice and plot and the story was written so well and had me devouring it.

I also love how's there 2 alternate endings - I've never seen an author do this but I loved it! There's one for if you want a HEA and one if you don't.  I read both and honestly I typically love a HEA, but the ending without one felt so much more fitting.

What to expect:
- Touch her and die
- Friends to lovers
- Masked stalker
- Serial Unaliver (but only for those he loves)
- Knife play, blood play, bondage
- Noncon, dubcon, forced O, somno

Thank you so much to Madilyn DeRose for letting me read and review an ARC of this book!  It releases October 25th and needs to be on your TBR if these tropes are your thing!

This is a dark romance and I do advise you to read the TW before you start!

This book was good, the MMC is unhinged enough in his plans and possessiveness that I could not wait to see what he would do next!

The FMC Alana is a good character, though she at some points made me go "Girl how come you don't see it!" And made me want to yeet my e-reader across the room.

It rated a 1/10 on my WTAF?! (What did I just read and why do I love it so much) This due to the tattoo, because AUW but also WAUW!

The chokehold this book had on me! First and foremost READY ALL TRIGGER WARNINGS!! Now Jayce the unhinged crazy psycho that I absolutely loved. Now while if this was RL I would never agree with or even want to be around but damn there’s something about a crazy obsessed stalker that just happens to be hot that hooks me like a fish to the baited hook. Alana whoo girl she’s a straight laced innocent who has a tiny crazy side that fits with Jayce. One of the things I found different about this book is the author made both an HEA and a NO HEA ending I enjoyed both bot you definitely do not have to read both choose whichever you prefer.
