I enjoyed this book a little more than the first. Sadie and Navin are my favorite couple so far. I love the bonds between the wolf packs and their abilities. This book goes more in-depth about how the high and mighty wolves are not as amazing as they think they are and how to try to make everyone equal. We learn more about Navin and what secrets he is keeping from everyone. We see Calla's struggles with being a Queen and making the world see their gender identity. Calla is forced to seek alliances from surrounding kingdoms to prepare for War with King Nero. Everyone splits up and you get to go on many adventures. This book has many challenges, betrayal, tension build-up, action, and spice. The ending left me shocked and excited for the third book.
Thank you, Avon and Harper Voyager for allowing me the opportunity to read and review through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Although I did enjoy this one better than the first - I still thought it could have been so much more. I like this author, and her writing style. For some reason this book seems a bit predictable and maybe a little underdeveloped. However, as with all this author's books, the world-building is beautiful and despite me feeling this could have ben more I still genuinely enjoyed the read.

I actually enjoyed this one more than book 1. I did feel it moved a little slow in some spots. Still was good overall. I enjoyed the twists, and turns. I loved the new additions added.
This Fantasy Romance is book 2 in the Golden Court Series. The romance in this book is more resistant, and a slow burn as the couple has things they have to overcome. This book focuses on a new couple that was previously introduced in book 1. The book does have spice. There are not a ton of spicy scenes, and they will not happen until later in the book. The spicy scenes still remain descriptive like in book 1. The book moved at a steady pace mostly following Sadie, Navine, and Maez as they travel to make alliances to help the Golden court. All while Briar, Grae, and Calla go to rescue Ora. With things tense between Sadie and Navine they get complicated fast. Especially when the secrets Navine has been working so hard to hide come to the light. This book is full of new unexpected magic, and twists you wont see coming. Itβs definitely a page turner that leaves you saying just one more chapter.

Book 2 continues to fall Calle and Sadie on their journey. This novel continues similarly to book 1. We get Dual POV and I thoroughly enjoyed Sadie's POV. I was happy to see the story develop further, and the political and relationship aspects captivate me as a reader. The book continues to have lots of action but still focused on the characters themselves. I'm excited to see where the next book will take us.

I had to read A River of Golden Bones after I received A Sky of Emerald Stars as an ARC (thank you NetGalley!) It was already on my tbr. I gave it a 2.75.
I am not exactly the target audience for this book, but I'm into fairytale retelling and this one has a few.
I enjoyed the writing much more in this book. I felt like it flowed better and Sadie's pov chapters I favored. I understood both character's struggles and know this will resonate with a lot of people who read it. The twists were interesting and I'll continue with the series ( I enjoyed The Five Criwn of Okrith Series so I do like the authors work.)
I rate A Sky of Emerald Stars a 3.25.

This book!!!!!! I thought the first book was amazing and wasn't sure about this one being a dual POV with Calla and Sadie but oh my gosh I think I liked it even better!!! So many twists you don't see coming! The plot and writing are absolutely amazing and the spice is on point. So different from other fantasy series. This book sucks you in from the first chapter to the last. I love the diversity of the characters and the message of being true to yourself. I can't WAIT until the next book!!!!

A sky of emerald stars is another great read of the year. Golden court is an amazing must read series.AK MULFORD is one of the best authors Iβve read and I cant wait for more by her! Thanks to netgalley & publisher for the ARC. The spice π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯ woah
I really liked this one. We have dual POVs from Sadie and Calla, two people going through very different parts of life. Calla is exploring with their new self plus being a queen. Has to navigate war and diplomacy.
Then we have sadie who is going through heartbreak but her queen assigns her a mission for the upcoming war. We mostly see Sadie tryin to hate Navin but very much failing. This second-chance relationship is full of drama that I enjoyed. On top of that, this secind book is even more action-packed that book one. More conflicts, betrayals and mysteries. We find the humans are quite powerful, it is here we see the world-building get more complex.
I will be looking forward to find out the end of this series and hope we see Briar and Maez again and how everything will settle down.
