A quick read on how to help your child learn to manage money. I liked that it had steps for preschool through young adulthood (ie after college.) Definitely taking some of these steps and will be looking back at this one as Julian ages.

This is full of really excellent, sound advice backed by the research that's been done into financial education and what is clearly a sound understanding of the tax/retirement system in the US.

This book fell victim to my “read 100 pages minus your age and if you’re still not into it you get to quit” rule.

This book starts strong, but loses steam about halfway through. The parts I found most helpful or about teaching young kids about money, and some practical ideas for how to do so. I found a few nuggets here and there of new information that I found helpful. Otherwise, same old same old.

I wasn't especially surprised by anything in this book, but I did find it helpful for strategizing how to talk to kids about money. I found most useful some of the suggestions on how to create learning opportunities for kids: creating different savings jars for young ones, visiting the bank, allowing for safe failure when it comes to saving and spending. It was nice to have many of my theories confirmed by research like never cosigning for kids' debt and bailing them out only in the event that you see it as a gift.

Has great points- our oldest is 7 so I got the most out of Chaps 1-5, 8 and 10. The other points were centered around spending (real life like insurance, car payments, weddings, loans) and we're just not there yet.

I read this book looking for tips on how I should start talking to a young child about money, and found some. I skimmed much of the advise for teens and young adults, which covered basics of personal finance you would find in any decent book on the topic.
