Really great short story that makes you think “if you knew all there was to know about one another how would that change you?”. I feel this story is a great story about not putting others on a pedestal and coming to terms that we are all hiding something, but does is that worth loosing “Faith”?

Wow! This was so intense and gloomy! I really enjoyed it and I also loved the savage criticism of Puritan hypocrisy
"Unhanged witch" is a hell of a thing to call someone.
Story made a lot more sense after I'd read that the author felt guilty for being a descendant of one of the judges at the Salem Witch Trials.

I studied this one in class and liked the undertones and allusions a lot honestly
I just love Hawthorne. An alluring story of Puritanism and questioning the established status quo.
