The Half of It

Madison Beer

I would recommend this book to any teenage or young adult girl. She grapples with the harsh realities of fame and living a life under the microscope of the public eye. In addition, she is vulnerable about her experiences with various traumas which are rarely talked about in such a vulnerable way.
I have never listened to Madison Beers music, but because of her courage and meaningful story telling I will.

This book was so good. Not only did I learn more about her history I also related to it so much. I loved reading about her journey with her mental/physical health. I loved how raw she became and how she admitted about not being perfect yet and how she still has a way to go. As a girlie that also struggles with mental health issues, it felt good to finally relate to something and listen to the advice that she had to give. I loved how she had journal prompts in her book that made you actually think about your answers. I also liked how they progressed as you read the book. Even if you're not a huge Madison Beer fan I still recommend reading/listening to this book as it has some great advice in it.

Rating the book and not Madison. As someone who has been listening to her music for a while, I enjoyed getting a peak into Madison's life story and getting to know her better. There's still so much ahead for her and I'm excited for what's to come if she ever decides to publish another book. Still, I also appreciated her documenting her life at a point where it's still going forward. (Listened to the audiobook version which has become my favourite way to access memoirs.)

enjoyed this more than i thought i would, i respect how vulnerable and open she was, and really enjoyed the journal prompts for the audience after every chapter. i think it was really cool how she made it almost feel like a therapy session at some parts and made the audience get introspective.

i definitely gained a lot of admiration and respect for her after this one, especially coming into it as a non-fan who doesn’t know much about her.
