The Half of It

Madison Beer

4.04 AVERAGE

As a person who was into the whole Magcon boys and being like 11 while Madison was dating Jack, and that whole world back then, I was the girl who "hated" her only because she was with Jack.I was 11 so don't judge me LMAOO. But, reading her story and the things she struggled with and seeing her from her eyes, I wanna slap the shit out of my 11 year old self. She went through a lot of paranoia and self hatred and I just wanted to give her a big hug. The media is really crazy and can drive people to the ends of the earth. I'm glad that she was able to share her story and put in the work to be better. She was just a girl who wanted to sing.

I loved this book. Madison is one of my favourite artists and I'm happy that I got to know some moments of her life from this book: the struggling and the hardships she have experienced, and how she manages to make the most out of the difficult situations in her life. Her attitude and the way she reflects on herself is simply encouraging and inspiring.
Before started reading, I haven't really had any expectations towards this book, I was just simply curious. But it captivated me real quick. It happens to me not so often that I finish a book that fast. It was worth reading it.

/    づ♡ I luv you Madison

tbh the book was a bit preachy and repetitive in many parts but it still got a tear out of me. I’ve always had a soft spot for Madison since to me, she is someone who has unjustly endured so much hardship in the limelight from such a young age. It really touched me to actually hear her narrate her struggles and how she continues to navigate them, as well as how much it touches her that her music can do so much good for listeners. I ended this audiobook wishing I could give her the biggest hug (although tbh I’ve wanted to hug her ever since I came across a random video of her “what’s in my purse” and she had tissues/cold meds bc she’s always sick bc same) ౨ৎ⋆˚。⋆

This memoir made me appreciate Life Support even more ♡ Life Support and Silence Between Songs remain some of my favorite albums ever and I can’t wait to see her on the Spinnin Tour later this year ⋆˙⟡ ♡
