quick read and pretty simple. i love madison and her music a lot but i don’t think someone who didn’t know her would love this that much. a lot of it seemed very general and lots of rephrasing of the same stuff over n over. cant lie tho some parts touched my heart and i appreciate Madison’s honesty in the book, looking forward to potentially more books over her career and interested to see her growth in writing! i also think if i was a little younger i would really love it :)

if there was one book i could give everyone in the world to read, it would be this one. madison is truly my hero and has been for so long and hearing her struggles made me feel so much less alone. im so proud of the progress shes made and i think her message of simple kindness is so powerful

a memoir that invoked empathy and reflection.
has unique aspects that make it feel interactive (journal prompts, for example). it's like she's holding out a hand for the reader to take as you follow her in her journey of healing.
i only knew of her and have enjoyed listening to her recent music, but after reading this one can't help but to feel proud of her.

I really do have to give props to Madison beer for coming out with this memoir with such authenticity. I believe sometimes we can read celebrities memoirs that they didn’t write and published just for the cash grab. You can tell by reading “The Half of it” that this is not the case. Madison beer genuinely put her heart out on display with this book with the want to help others. i listened to the audiobook which was narrated by madison beer herself. her voice was very comforting, i felt like i was sitting in a dim lit room drinking tea while madison gave me advice & little stories. i personally related to a lot of what she talked about in this book. I find it very inspiring in so many ways. I also will most definitely try out the journal prompts she gives throughout the book.
