this was a toxic hell, I almost dnf'ed so many times during the middle section of the book cause there were no redeeming qualities to witness all the bullshit but still managed to finish. idk how Aiden can redeem himself

Somehow Rina makes you simultaneously love and hate Adrian Volkov. I repeatedly went back and forth between thinking he was terrible at the end of book 1 to thinking he wasn’t all bad, back to despising me.

What to expect:
- mafia romance
- forced prox.
- morally grey
- bd$m
- praise/deg.

The way Adrian is OTT/possessive of her from the start 🫡 Is there anything better than the tension when a relationship starts? Lia and Adrian were so push/pull that I was dying for them to get together and it made that much better when they did fall for each other.

But that ending! Dang, I knew we would get answers that would bring us to the present day from where book 1 was but I was shocked! I did not see that coming at all. I really felt for Lia through the whole book 🥹 especially the latter half.

I dual read this on my kindle and audio and the narrators were mf’n perfect. I highly recommend the audio.
