This is a very enjoyable, standard, well written memoir. If you like NPH, then pick this one up! If you're not a fan then you won't like this book either.
I listened to this and while I love listening to author read autobiographies, the premise would be more fun/engaging if you are reading a paper copy. The choose your own adventure book trope really need the actual paging through a paper book. Despite this, they did a very good job in the audio version - keeping it clean, easy to understand and fun to listen to.

I want to be Neil Patrick Harris' best friend. Because magic, singing, dancing, and award show hosting? Legen- wait for it- dary.
What a delightful memoir. I loved this. I did listen to the audiobook, so I missed the "choose your own story" aspect of this. While that's a huge sell of this book, I feel the audiobook moments that wowed me really make it worth it. NPH narrates, obviously, but we also get audio pipped in from moments he speaks of, such as a rap he gave at the Tony's or a speech he presented when he won this award, etc. Those moments really bring this story to life for me. NPH also finds a way to share these moments he's experience in such an enthusiastic and joyful way. I love his personality and it shines through in his writing.
I felt like this was a pretty open and honest biography. And it was written in a totally irreverent and amusing way. Made me wish I could have drinks with the author.

It was better than a sweater.
An interesting and cool format, the best part of the book is spending time with NPH and seeing how his mind works, which comes across well. After reading it the choose-your-own-adventure way, I sat down and read it straight through as I had missed a bunch of stuff on my first go through, including the introduction of David. There's a few hidden tricks in the book if you read it every page, so I would recommend this.
I skipped over a few parts, including HIMYM, but overall really enjoyed spending time with NPH and his amazing family.

I listened to this on audiobook. Pluses about audiobook version: NPH narrates and he does a great job! Minuses about the audiobook version: the choose your own adventure style makes more sense in a written book version.
