I think I read all of it but it's hard to tell. Overall I really enjoyed it!
adventurous
funny

slow-paced
Finally got around to this - I listened to the audiobook, narrated by NPH himself, and it was pretty awesome. You guys, he does actual magic tricks through the audiobook and they totally work. I was so impressed.
I thought the "Choose your own adventure" gimmick would get tiresome after a while, but it was actually fun and fresh and funny. NPH makes no bones about how privileged he is and how awesome his life is and yet he still comes across as very genuine and humble. His stories about how much he loves his family are ridiculously adorable. A unique and fun spin on the ubiquitous celebrity autobiography.

First, let me be honest and say autobiographies are usually super dry and read like a textbook - thus one does not. Not at all. I actually loved this book. It probably isn't for everyone, but it was great for me. I think NPH is amazing, funny, magical, I'm a Broadway and theater lover, and HIMYM is one if my top 5 favorite shows. Thus book was so much fun. So many surprises, so many bee things learned, cute, silly, and I just overall really enjoyed it.
The "choose your own adventure" style is gimmicky and annoying.
NPH and Choose Your Own Adventure style story telling?
What's not to like?
I read through one whole scenario today and I can definitely see that it'll be fun to reread other story lines.
It's a very quick read but it's a definite reread too since you have plenty of other scenarios to play out.
The format was fun, the only downside was that I'm not sure I got to hear enough of NPH's life story yet. That being said, with a reread I'm bound to learn more.

This was delightful. The format makes for an amusing way to read. Being one of those people who can't just follow the path in a choose your own adventure, I also required a lot of bookmarks to make it all the way through. If you're a fan of NPH, I'm sure you'll enjoy this. It has the humor and wit I associate with him, as well as lovely little glimpses into the behind the scenes and private parts of his life.
I'm finding it difficult to say anything disloyal about this book. To be fair, I eagerly chose and read this memoir. But I'm not sure that ultimately NPH has gotten enough living under his belt to write a memoir, and the self-fascinated tone of it isn't as endearing as he is. I still love him, though, and the choose-your-own-adventure setup is fun.
When I thought I couldn't love NPH anymore. Listening to him discuss his love for his partner and their children pulled my heart strings. He has lived quite a life that is definitely worth sharing. I enjoyed the "What If this happened instead" stories. I definitely recommend both listening to the audio book and having the physical book for the photos, receipts, and crossword.
