I'm not always a fan of the older woman/ younger man age gap. However, this story changed my mind. I adored this story. It was intense and passionate. It was sweet and sexy. It had a great balance of drama and angst as well and definitely held me captive reading this. I am looking forward to seeing what Karina has in store for us.

Great story that emphasizes that love comes in many ways. It doesn't fit into a specific box. It is indiscriminate regarding age, religion, sex, and cultures. The author did a good job with the reverse age gap.

The more I sit on the aftermath of reading this book the more I find fault with it.
***I recommend physically reading the book and not going the audiobook route.
Coming off the high of One Hot Italian Summer, I dove into this one because older woman/younger man (yes) and FĂştbol (yes yes)! I felt as if the One Hot Italian Summer was a promise of another great read.
No. I did not get a great read. If you analyze all the pieces that make up the story, it all should have worked. It was the piecing it together that didn't work.
*40 year old athletic physical therapist
*Newly divorced
* She worked with her ex husband (coach)
*He cheated and is officially with the mistress
*She leaves UK for Spain
*23-24 year old soccer player
*Let the fun begin
I didn't necessarily think the story was boring. It's slow but I was willing to ride it out because right off, this was a complicated hot mess to begin with. Thing is there's NO chemistry between these two. You were told over and over again how hot each of the mains were and how there was something there after one night of running into each other. However, there really weren't that many interactions. Everything was weird. It wasn't until like way after the half way point where I felt some kind of connection but it was so luke warm.
I don't know... It was just meh...

I liked this book but was annoyed with Thalia many times throughout. She was so indecisive and immature at times. I loved Alejo, but Thalia was annoying.

Narrators: Alexander Cendese & Stephanie Rose
4.5🌟
Well this book absolutely took me by surprise how much I loved it!
The narration was SO well done with the accents and the tension between these 2 characters! And the spice was so freaking hot!
My only little complaint was that it was a bit long & the male narrators female voice was not my favorite, but other than that I loved it!

A love story and character's you will not forget!
Hand down my favorite from this author. I've read a lot of Karina's books and this by far is my favorite. You don't see alot of older woman younger man stories and there needs to be more! But not only that I loved reading a story with the heroine closer to my age. I read books where the ages vary it doesn't matter to me but I do enjoy when the heroines are older as well. This story was well worth the wait being though it was pushed back a couple of times but again worth the wait. It didn't feel rushed it felt complete and the chemistry between Thalia and Alejo were off the charts! Loved the side character's and getting Mateo and Vera again all of it! Please please now I need Luciano, whenever he was in a scene I just wanted more! I want to know more of his story that he mentioned to Alejo I just want a whole book of that man plus he is older I love older men just as much as the young one's. These men she creates are just so swoon worthy and passionate. If you're in the mood for something romantic that grips you this is it. Seriously this is her best yet.

So this started off as a four-star for me. I enjoyed the angst and I felt the chemistry between the two characters. I love Alejo as a character. Alpha male, passionate and wears his heart on his sleeve. Also, soccer sports romance? Yes please!
However, once the couple ended up together, I felt the only thing that kept them going was their physical attraction to each other.
By the 60% mark, the conflict that kept them apart didn't matter anymore only to become the source of conflict once again a little later on and then only to find out that eventually the conflict could have been sorted out if someone just had the courage to speak. I found the manner in which the conflict was treated was a bit silly and I lost a little interest.
Also, this story is too long.

did not like thalia. at all. i just feel like, if you’re choosing to go with an older character (40!!!) then atleast make them act like that. why is the 23yo boy acting more mature? i didn’t like the instal or situation, def didn’t like how thalia dealt w things.
i was hoping to see how helen’s arc would turn out, bc it was getting juicy and i had an idea but i really couldn’t deal w thalia. i saw this recommended in conjunction w MZ and honestly? i would never. kulti wasn’t my favorite but even that didn’t deserve to be done so bad.
