Another poignant story! This one balances the light the and heavy that comes with life. A hopeful story that unfolds about our FMC finding love after loss.

In this book we get to see Sloan's character be fleshed out as well as meet Jason. Kristen continues to be a central character and I was happy to see her and peak into her life after her "happily ever after". Josh unfortunately sort of faded to a side character, I was hoping to get to know him better from the outside since their book really focused on Kristen.

I enjoyed Sloan and Jason's character development and complicated and nuanced reactions to real relationship barriers (not everyone is a rockstar but jobs have been known to transfer people or require travel).

This book got emotional reactions out of me such as- smiling, laughing, and crying.

This was cute! I think I need to read more romances based around music artists because the last few I've read I've really enjoyed.

This was reading like a 5 star from the beginning, there was a small part in the middle that went differently than I expected but it all turned out the way it needed to. The ending was super cute and cheesy which might bother some but I loved it. This was so much better than the first book The Friend Zone, but I did enjoy Josh and Kiersten in this as well.

I have mixed feelings about this. I think it was overall very good, the characters are fun and have good chemistry. Some of their actions/thought processes weren’t very believable. Also the whole playlist thing had nothing to do with the book. I thought that was dumb. Also I wish that not every loose end was tied up so nicely.

Also they seemed very co-dependant and there were thin attempts to make the relationship seem healthier.

Disclaimer: Yes, I'm still reading this series out of order. Although Kristen's and Sloan's stories continue from book #1, enough was explained that I easily understood what was going on, but I hear book #1 will still be gut-wrenching when I get to it.

I enjoyed the humor and how the friendship developed between Sloan and Jason. As it turns into romance, it's easy to believe that Jason is the perfect man because his character is so well-written as caring and protective. He is constantly thinking of Sloan's needs before his own, although his music career is quickly taking off. Once again, the author tackled some sensitive subjects appropriately, keeping the story real. Of course, there are some obstacles and conflicts along the way, but the ending tied everything together neatly which I liked. This was just one of those fun, romantic stories that was great to escape into. Great author's note, too.

Sloan and Jasons story just made my heart melt! Abby Jimenez is great at making her stories feel realistic, with her main characters going through real life hardships, like Sloans fiancé dying. It makes the story so much better since it has a more realistic feel. The connection between Sloan and Jason is evident just pages in, and their genuine love is so sweet 🥺
