A good read

A bit predictable, but I enjoyed it. I loved the setting, particularly Sol Duc falls, since we’ve been there. I think The Nightingale is still Kristin Hannah’s strongest book.

I liked how this book was both a love story and a mystery, both of which could have stood alone as books.

Once again Kristin writes beautifully about the dynamic and character development of a family of three sisters.

They each went through ups and downs, and even though I hated some of things they did as characters, their development was astounding.

And yes, I love a good cliche ending, which made me drop a few tears.

Mmm starting to get fed up with formulaic one dimensional characters but the story still pulled me in. But really her husband has been in prison for twelve years she doesn't know he has been released and all she says is "your here". A snotty teenager who is overnight transformed into a perfect human being able to express love and vulnerability and who completely engages with a teacher telling him to write a journal. Come on!!! So this is the end of my Kristen Hannah fest.
