I felt connected with some of the poetry, and everything else felt the usual-kind-of-poetry. Still, it's heart warming somehow.

Wow! I was really pleasantly surprised by this collection of poems. I was drawn in by the title and stayed for the vulnerable, thought-provoking inner monologue of the writer. I really enjoyed the layout of the poems and how it was grounded by an ongoing narrative. The only little nitpick I had was when it said “*silence*”, I felt it would have been more powerful to leave those spaces empty instead, and it took me out of it a little bit.

Very quick read, I also loved reading the strength and self-compassion in the poet.

Thank you to Netgalley and Andrew McMeel Publishing for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

I am one of those people who comes up with a good answer or understands what should have been said a few months later, perhaps because I take a lot of time to process. It starts with shock, then goes into trying to understand why I am listening or wasting time listening to people who get pleasure in returning to hurt.

This book has great examples of what is so many times unsaid, and if you are breaking up, changing life, or understanding that some people are not right, then they make sense to you.
Thank you publisher for the copy.

A deep dive into the ending of a relationship and fighting off the urge to forgive the person and allow them back into your life. The formatting of this book is very interesting providing a text thread conversation then going text by text into the thoughts and feelings each text evoked.
