I was really pleased to have had the opportunity to read A Bargain So Bloody early, and it did not disappoint. The character development was very satisfying. The main characters felt vivid and distinct, with descriptions that made them come alive.
The pacing was spot-on, with the story moving along steadily without dragging. As someone who can lose interest in overly drawn-out dialogue, I really appreciated how tight and engaging the narrative was.
The narrator also did a brilliant job, adding another layer of richness to the experience. I’m absolutely hooked and will be reading the next book in this series for sure.

Drake's writing is amazing. I was drawn in and captivated from the very first paragraph. Cecily Foster is a great narrator. (My one negative critique is Ms. Foster occasionally lost me when narrating the MMC because she doesn't achieve the baritone of the author gives him.)
The story is captivating. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who listens. I'm very eager for the next book.

The FMC is serving a 15 year prison sentence in the Witch Kingdom. She's eager to finish the next 3 years so she can join a religious organization and live the rest of her life in anonymity. I hope we get more details as to why in the next installment.
Her jailer gleefully burst that bubble. Fortunately our MMC, the mysterious vampire recently imprisoned, offers a bargain.....
