This is a biting commentary on influencers/social media/consumerism/popularity. It took an absurdist turn towards the end that I wasn’t expecting - it was a couple notches down from Bunny. Not the most outstanding book I’ve ever read, but definitely entertaining and it did keep me turning the pages wondering what on earth was going to happen next.

This went in a direction that I definitely did not expect and whoa!
Julie Chan is living an ordinary life as a grocery cashier while her twin sister Chole is thriving as an influencer. When Chloe dies under mysterious circumstances, Julie is able to assume her identity and slip somewhat seamlessly into her lavish life.
The premise at first seems completely unbelievable - how could anyone mistake soap-and-water Julie for her La Mer sister? But it's later revealed there is a reason - a very dark reason - why this comes so easily. This ended up being a pretty fun read with an interesting, wicked take on influencer life.

Fun, crazy. I love the biting commentary on influencer life. The consumerism and wastefulness. I wish it were more sinister though, but i liked this so much better than Bunny.
