This book took a firm hold of my heart and squeezed it till I couldn’t breathe! I cried while reading at least 75% of it. If you’re a mother, this will rip your heart out. Kristin Hannah doesn’t sugar coat anything. It’s always raw, human emotions that the reader can identify with, whether or not they have actually been through something similar or not. Everyone has dealt with grief in some way, some more than others. Sometimes the depth of grief is glossed over in fictional works. The grief in this story is so palpable that you experience it with them. I could see all the different ways and sides of dealing with what happened, and it was just heartbreaking. This is my sixth book by this author, and it is always a 4-5 star read. If this one is too heavy for you, don’t let that stop you from reading her other books.

This book!

So beautifully written, so heart wrenching. I ugly cried for at least the last two chapters.

I’m usually a thriller and horror reader so this was a complete break from my normal and I was engulfed by it. Completely drawn in, emersed and taken on an emotional rollercoaster.

Just read it.

Don't read it if you don't like to cry....I was completely drawn unto the book and finished it in a day and a half, which was good, because I have to go back to work, but bad, because I like good books to last longer. But, this one was 400 pages...

Another amazing heart-wrenching, thought-provoking story by Kristin Hannah. She truly writes in magic. This book shone a light on so many micro aggressions and prejudices in our world. Very good, I was captivated and cared the entire time!
