The magic system in this universe was really interesting, and the world-building was pretty well-executed. I struggled with the pacing, and with a couple sections that didn't seem like they added much to the story.

Notably, the whole "main character tries (and miserably fails) to make friends with the upper echelon" part in the castle.

The economics of the world were also off-putting to me.

Why could the main character easily transmute rags into luxurious clothes that were canonically super expensive, and she gave some away to a poor villager to sell once and then that never came up again? Why wasn't she helping more people in her seemingly-impoverished home village?

I think the character development also could have used some work, although I'd say it was pretty in-line for a romantasy novel.

Lastly, I thought the main character had way more chemistry with her best friend than with the old mean wizard who's 100+ years older than her. I was actually shocked when they ended up together at the very end, seeing as he barely featured in the last several sections of the book.
