Ok book. Good plot and writing, no third act breakup. Just didn’t have the pizzazz her books usually do

this book is drinking a warm cup of tea while wearing your softest sweater stepping outside into a brisk, chilly autumn morning with the morning dew on the grass and your breath misting in the air.

“I just told him the truth.” “Which is?” “That you’re the best thing in my life right now. That he’s out of his fucking mind if he thinks any of that bullshit is true. That I would . . . That I’d be lucky if you’d even so much as let me get on my knees in front of you.”

this really was elio's book for me. i like daisy (surfer girl studying marine biology? i swear this was written for me), but having already been acquainted with elio since book 1 where he was at rock bottom to come full circle to his renewal in this book was wonderful. these two needed to find someone to make home in and they found it.

i enjoy the slower, grounded feel of ki's writing. i would compare this series to lovelight farms in similar tone and vibes with very character-based writing and a quaint cozy element always present. i thought ki handled writing a sex worker character with appropriate sensitivity and understanding, with lots of sex positivity in the story (spoiler:
the scene where daisy "helps" him work was super hot and fun
).

also, it's not explicitly stated, but i would consider elio to be bi/pan/queer and suspect daisy to be demisexual or something close to that as well?

i'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

There aren’t words that can describe how much I enjoyed reading this book. I remember when Spring Tide came out, I remember Luca having a little brother, one that gave him a lot of trouble had was very rough around the edges. LITTLE DID I KNOW that Elio Reynolds would take the cake as my favorite character. My favorite little introvert boy.  (And the tattoos definitely help). Then there is my sunshine wildflower, Daisy Grey. Reading about her and Elio’s relationship and how she was there for him when he needed her the most and him being the one to make her truly find love again.

I didn’t know what to expect when this book was announced, and now that I have finally read it, it’s honestly one of my favorites this year. Im literally so in love with the tropes, the story, the characters and the emotions that it made me feel. AND BOY DID I FEEL A LOT. I don’t know what else to say rather than thank you for giving me my favorite introverted boy who I relate to on so many levels as well as another book to my favorites.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this Advanced Reader’s Copy. All of thoughts and opinions are my own. Spoiler free review!

The end of an era! I’m so sad to have to say goodbye to the Coastal University characters. I’ve loved reading about them so much! Truly a comfort series for me.

Now let’s get into Ripple Effect! I’ve been so curious to know what’s been going on in Elio’s mind. He’s so reserved and mysterious. Turns out he’s just been hiding a soft and caring heart.

I’m the beginning of the book, Elio is just going through the motions, he spends his nights disassociating while working, not sleeping properly. He’s basically numb. The only thing that brings him joy is his dog Bentley (the cutest ever!!).
Enters Daisy!! A sweet, sunshine surfer who’s searching for a family and unconditional love. Who sees and understands Elio like no one else.

From the moment they meet they form an instant connection. They instantly become friends. They’re there for each other, they lean on each other and most importantly they help each other through the tough times. They grow together. Their love story truly is so beautiful and tender and real.

Also!! The HarperLuca and KaiaHolden crumbs!!! I was so happy to see them!

I love this book with my whole heart! It’s one of my favorite books I’ve read this year, I wouldn’t change a single thing about it <3

Ki Stephens, I am in awe!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I've read all of Ki's books so far and I was so excited to be selected for an ARC of Ripple Effect!

I enjoyed the fresh story that Ki created in this book. It's so different from the sports romance books I usually read and I really loved the change of pace. I liked that we got a redemption for Elio, who we see briefly earlier in the series. It was so wonderful to see him let Daisy in.

I loved Daisy's fierce protectiveness over Elio, even from the start. It truly was a story of 'when you know, you know', but I appreciated that Ki let their friendship develop naturally. Make sure to check this one out ASAP!

Read if you love:
💙slow burn
💙troubled pasts
💙friends to lovers
💙he falls first
💙no third act breakup
💙great communication

"She turns toward me, pressing a gentle kiss to my lips, and I can't help but smile. She's mine, and I'm hers, and nothing in my life has ever felt so right."

i appreciate the author and team for the early arc! thank you

very insta lovey at the beginning but daisyelio are cute! i liked how they talked about each other’s boundaries as well as communication about their feelings in general! also liked the crumbles from the precious couples from the first two books
