First Comes Scandal is the first book I've read by Julia Quinn. I understand it's part of a series, but I don't think I missed out on anything, as the two main characters are well introduced in the first few pages.

The novel has a delightful combination of being rooted in the conventions of the time (late 1700's), and yet the characters feel modern and this is reflected in their speech and thoughts.

A delightful read that could have easily been much longer. I will be reading more by the author.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my review copy.

three and a half stars. this book doesn’t even touch anthony or francesca’s book, but then again, what could? i wish it was a little longer and we got more action scenes. i feel like all the good, exciting stuff happened off camera so to speak and we just got to see conversations about the good stuff after it had happened. but as always julia quinn does an excellent job at the romance and i had a decent amount of warm and fuzzies.

nicholas é o homem dos sonhos

gostei demais como é diferente do padrão dos livros da julia quinn. ele não era libertino, o casal não tem uma briga perto do fim, é a mais pura paz i love it here
