Knights After My Heart by Sonya Jesus is an amazing new adult romance that I devoured! It is written in alternating first person POV by the two main characters: Lia & Hawk. This book was ah-mazing! So hilarious at times, I swear Lia is my spirit animal, lol!
“I channel my inner nice girl”
“My inner conscience is holding up a red flag, but my inner sex vixen burns it to the ground”
Love, love, love the thoughts in her head! So realistic, and well written-having me laugh out loud at times! She is such a relatable character, and very well written. Hawk is amazing as the cocky gorgeous sorta-stalker too;) The story engages from the start & never lets up as the love triangle forms…..what happens? Read it, love it, re-read because it’s that good! Will so be stalking this author from here on out;)

Not my usual cup of tea but God I loved it

This book is so far from what I usually read it’s nit even funny however this little detail did nothing to hinder the fact that I fell in love with the book, the plot, the characters, their dialogue, well just about everything about it. Don’t feel comfortable saying to much about it for fear of spoiling the experience for you but I will say it ends in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next book of the series. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

This is the first book I read by Sonya Jesus. The beginning was a little slow and hard to get into. But by the middle I couldn't stop reading. I usually dont like reading books with cliffhangers but I cant wait to read the next one.

This is not your usual love story. This book is told from 2 POV’s alternating. I found the characters to be well developed and well rounded. I thought this story was quite unique and had you guessing throughout the whole book. I loved the intrigue and mystery aspect and it only added more appeal to this story. I think at times, the back and forth POVs, got to be a little tedious. Some of the dialogue was a bit repetitive and felt stilted in certain spots. Overall, this was an interesting read that ended with a major cliffhanger.

Amelia "Lia" Marie is in college and is trying to deal with her feelings and relationships towards certain guys in the book while at the same time dealing with an unknown stalker.

At the beginning it appeared that Lia had a crush on soccer star Aiden Keys but she is "dating" Connor. Her best friend is Christoper "Robins" Robinson who affectionately calls Lia "Pooh bear" but both Connor and Robins girlfriend Meg do not approve of their close relationship.

Then there is Hawk who is stalking Lia and leaving her presents and definitely has an unhealthy obsession with her.

I enjoyed parts of the book but I found it flipped around between a few too many characters and more and more characters seem to appear that it was confusing to figure out who was who.

The end was intense with some revelations about Hawk but I'm curious to see when he began to obsess about her.

Knights After My Heart
By Sonya Jesus
⅘ Stars

Knights After My Heart by Sonya Jesus is her very first novel. It’s about finding out where your heart really belongs. It will grab your attention within the first paragraph and hold your interest until the last page.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride!! This story will take you on one heck of a roller coaster ride!! It will make you laugh and possibly even cry. You will feel many different emotions!!
Amelia is struggling between the past and present… who will she chose? Who will treasure her heart the most? She is torn beyond words, she has no idea where her heart belongs.
I enjoyed Amelia’s character. She is young, but smart. She is a tad naive , but strong. She is really relatable in these days. She is a exceptionally brave young woman, who must discover herself along her journey.
Since this is Sonya’s debut novel, I’m excited to see what else she has in store for us!! Her characters are unforgettable and imaginative!! It was extremely difficult to put this story down, once I started!! Great job, Sonya!!

Good story but worrying characters

Overall this was a good story. I could relate to Lea and her friendships with Robins and her growing relationship with Conner. The character of Hawk has me raising an eyebrow with concern but I think that is what the author is going for. I just want to make sure that it is put out there that there are triggers for stalking in this book.

Knights After My Heart was my first book by Sonya Jesus. I’m not a big fan of college book most of the time, but the blurb is what got my attention to read this book. Amelia is at a point in her life where she doesn’t really know what she wants or who for that matter. I felt that most of the time her friends and suitemates made most of her decisions for Amelia without her really knowing. Plus how many guys are too many, this was a part that got a little confusing. For me there was too much YA drama for me at some points; some of the girls I wanted to slap!

Overall, this was a good book; the ending had me yelling at the book and myself because I’m going to have to read the next book just to know what happens – will Hawk make a move now and what will Amelia when he does?

Knights After my Heart by Sonya Jesus

4 Stars !!!!

This author is new to me so I didn't know what to expect. I first thought by the title that the book would be period based but reading the first page proved me wrong. I did find the book to be a fast paced. The writer has a unique writing style and plot format.

I found the dynamics between the characters quite complex. The whole sort of relationship quadrangle between Lia, Robins, Connor and the unknown Hawke is very complex. I felt a bit uneasy as Hawke seems to be stalkerish. The book does keep you glued to the page to find out what exactly will happen next. I would like to in future read more by this author and see what happens to this quadrangle.

How do you write a review about book that has actually rendered you speechless? Not only was the story amazing but it’s also the authors’ debut novel! I was completely captivated buy this story from the very first page – I absolutely loved all the twists and turns. The story is told in dual POV which was great and the authors writing style was so engaging that I couldn’t put the book down at all.
I actually found Amelia (Lia) to be a really interesting character, I’m not quite sure I can work her out. She is clearly a popular person but she also has this naivety to her. I loved the relationship between her and her friends, especially her best friend Christopher (who she calls Robins). I’m not too sure about her budding relationship with Connor so I will be interested to see where that goes in the next book.
The other chapters are from Hawk's POV – except we don’t actually know who Hawk is but his chapters were just mesmerising. I couldn’t wait to get to his next chapter to see if I could work out who he was but I just couldn’t! I need to know who he is!! What does he want with Amelia? Should I like him? I can’t believe I need to wait to find out just what is going on!
I have to admit the pace of the story was a little up and down but the plot definitely made up for it in my opinion! It does end on a cliff-hanger and what a cliff-hanger it is! I cannot wait for the next story! I know it’s going to be a good one!!
This truly is a fantastic debut novel for Sonya Jesus and I can’t wait to see where she takes this storyline next!!
