A great thriller! LOVED the narration. I felt like I was actually in the book. I wish the timeline was more clear.

Holy shit! This was absolutely incredible. It was short but Patterson really knows how to write them, I was hooked. Stephanie Beatriz was an incredible detective/writer and Zachary Quinto was the perfect actor/murderer. Quinto really knows how to do deranged people and it comes across perfectly in this audio book. Plus the production quality was really good! Lots of little sound effects that really added a little something something. 10/10 would recommend!!

4.5 stars. Performance is spot-on throughout, but the story kinda dips in quality during some points.

This book had a predictable storyline, however the audio performance was excellent.

DNF
I couldn't get into this at all, I think I was more distracted by the fully immersive sound (or whatever they call that) than I was pulled into the story because of it.

Brent Quill has been in the acting industry for years but has yet to get his big break. He did star in the hit TV series, My Brother's Keeper, but that was years ago when he was a kid. Frustrated and wanting to reach the next level in his career, Brent enrolls in a Method acting class and goes in deep, probably deeper than he anticipated. But then he immediately gets the lead role in a TV series about a serial killer. Soon Brent finds himself blurring the lines between acting and real life.

Great premise. Great voice acting. Bad execution. Horrible pacing. Not a fan of the audio direction, even for an audio drama.

I loved Zachary Quinto's narration in The Dispatcher series and that made me want to pick this up (also, my girl Stephanie Beatriz is here). While the story is interesting, this both bored and annoyed me despite the great voice acting from A list stars.

I mean, if you're going to spend this much on production and casting, why not have a longer story? The pacing killed it for me. I wasn't in any way connected with the lead characters - the only characters I feel empathy for were Sam and Mickey because, for real, they did not deserve what happened to them. The rest of the characters were either too bland or just dislikable. Brent's descent wasn't fleshed out enough, his Mr. Hyde personality was there for 90% of the time.

I'm okay with audio dramas, I enjoyed the audio dramas for Carmilla and Sandman. But the audio direction for this was either too distracting or too confusing and was probably made more for headphone experience.
