I am not quite done with this book (on April 21, 2008)(one more tale to read) - however, it has proven to me, yet again, that horror writers are off their rocker. There are several stories I enjoyed ALOT, and several that were just odd, and a few more that were downright creepy. Over all, a pretty quick read, as Bentley Little is a very readable author, even the weird tales were quick to get through.

Some stories were better than others, but the best ones were too short.

Some of Little's work I love and some is just ok. I was really looking forward to this collection of short stories. I read this over the course of a few months (in between other novels). There were a few stories that I enjoyed a lot but most fell into an "ok" status. I liked The Phonebook Man and Blood. The Idol read like something out of a teenage boy's wet dream. Definitely a hit and miss collection.

A great and varied collection of stories that really showcase the range of horror and weird fiction that Bentley Little writes. There wasn't a dud in the lineup, and the author isn't afraid to push it to the extreme or the absurd. Brilliant writing!
