This was my least favorite book in the entire Will Trent series. I hated the back and forth, back and forth.. Eh! I'm so glad I'm finished with it.

I did love the moments between Will and Sara though. And I loved the tender moments between Amanda and Will.

Will thinks he's not good enough for Sara or anyone else -- but he's surrounded by a very strong support system! I hope he realizes that one day.

I LOVED the forensic talk in this one, there was a lot more than the usual.

It took six books, but backstory! We get backstory on Will, more than we had been given. We get back story on Amanda Wagner, who I figured we'd never get backstory on. This book is primarily set in the past through Amanda's POV (another thing I wasn't thinking would happen)

I love the Will Trent stories and this one has all the juice on his mom and Amanda. Multiple timelines, if you have read them out of order it explains a lot but there’s enough story that it stands alone too.

This is an absolute must read if you are invested in the characters!! It gives the back story to them❤️

I still miss Jeffrey Tolliver but
I love love love love love Will Trent. I can’t believe Karin Slaughter wrote yet ANOTHER ending that made me ugly cry. What the hell.
