Compared to other reviewers, I’m definitely in the minority with this book. I enjoyed The Martian, but this just made me cringe. The main character, Ryland is obnoxious, sexist, and apparently the best scientist there ever was with a sense of humor that never made me smirk. He interacts with aliens in ways that seem unrealistic. This story just didn’t do it for me.

So not my usual genre but I loved this book so much! So many unexpected things happen! And SUCH a satisfying ending!! Finished it during Reading Retreat.
