Brilliant collection of stories shining a light on Birmingham’s literary scene – a scene that is alive and well, with a diverse set of stories that are thoughtful, messy, angry, honest, hilarious, and terrifying but with a fondness  for Birmingham, and specifically Digbeth, running through them all. There are some names to watch out for here including (full disclosure) my friend Taylor Burns but I’ll also have an eye on Kate Mascarenhas, Garrie Fletcher, Tom Maguire, Ben Waddington, and Alan Beard to name a few. It feels cruel to single out some names and not others but I am only one reader – I enjoyed the whole collection and I’m sure other readers will have other favourites. Well worth checking out this book.
