This is my 12th book in this series, which I put off reading fully because I am not a Snow White fan. But, I honestly wish I had read it all the way through much sooner. Because this book was phenomenal!!! I absolutely loved the twist with the Prince and Snow!! Truly don't skip this one, it's phenomenal!

Snow White is the first Disney movie, so I was curious to see what added plot points would be used to enhance the story and turn it around so that the prince eats the poison apple.

Probably, the most interesting part of the book is learning that the Evil Queen had a name once: Ingrid. We learn of Ingrid's childhood through flashbacks and we can see how morally gray she was, torn between choosing to pursue Dark Magic and her sister, Queen Katherine. Then events eventually led to how she became the Evil Queen as we all knew her. Her story was pretty dark and sad, but naturally, it doesn't justify her actions as an adult. It's not long before we learned that Ingrid is Snow's aunt!

While I enjoyed getting this more in-depth look at the classic Disney movie, I didn't get this much of an exciting and thrilling read as half of the book is predictable. The only twist coming in the end is the prince biting the apple instead of Snow (which isn't much of a twist, really, because the book's subtitle is a major giveaway).

Sure, the book isn't flawless (I enjoyed it just a bit), but it was definitely an interesting read. Ingrid was more of a complex character instead of a jealous lunatic.

To be honest, I kind of expected more from this novel. The Twist mentioned in the title kind of only happened at the end of the story, everything leading up to that point was half the backstory of the evil Queen and half of Snow Whites experience outside the castle. The characters were too flat, I couldn't really find the depth I craved from them. At least it was kind of nice to see some relationship built between the Prince and Snow, but that was one of the few things I really enjoyed about the story.

I picked this one for a buddy read. On other hand, I do love Jen Calonita's writing style and books. Perfect for a buddy read. This is part of the Twisted Tales. I jumped right in to the series with this book. For sure going to check out the rest of the series.

I like how the author twisted this retelling by making Snow White stronger than the original. I liked learning about the Magic Mirror and how the Evil Queen developed an obsession with it.

If you are into fairy tale retellings or even Snow White at all, you will enjoy this twist and how it all ends.

Mirror Mirror was okay. I've never really been a fan of Snow White.

I feel like this one dragged... Like it took me way longer to finish this one compared to prior ones. Good concept and decent story but it just felt slow and I began to lose interest.

This book felt very mediocre. The audiobook was also very boring, the voice actor did not even sound that into the book either. She sounded like she didn't even like the book. I have many more Disney Retelling's on my bookshelves and I am hoping those are a lot better than this one that I read. Snow White was never my favourite Disney princess. This book was just disappointing for a Twisted tale story. I feel like their's not much I can say about this book. I liked the frozen Twisted tale I did rate it 4 stars, the Peter Pan twisted tale was okay as well I think I rated that one 3 stars. This books felt like it was dragging so much. I do love the font that they print on the books it's so fast and easy to read. The evils queen's background was very meh and was not that interesting nothing major happened to her. I will keep continuing reading the Twisted Tale books because I am interested in reading some more of them, and seeing what happens in these stories as they continue on.
