The book seemed to be longer than it needed to be. Some of the plot just didn't feel relevant to the story. I didn't think the plot twist was very surprising, as there had been many hints to the ending here and there.
It seems a bit unbelievable to me that the sister happened to be able to do something creepy just by chance multiple times. It felt like she would have needed to be a criminal mastermind to plan stuff like that, but in reality she just wouldn't have the time with a kid and a husband and a job and such. The reveal didn't feel as consequential as it could have been either, and then in the end it didn't seem to have mattered at all, since we still got a happy ending and a very good life for the protagonist, no matter what happened in the meantime.

I could see where the author was going with it, but the book as a whole just didn't resonate with me as much. I liked the little citations in the beginning of the chapters though, because it led the reader to try to discover the meaning of little things happening in the story, just by giving writing advice.

DID NOT FINISH

Telling not showing taken to a whole new level. The book is so repetitive and filled with so many irrelevant details that it hurts to read it.
