I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC for You Let Me In by Lucy Clarke - 4.5/5 stars.

I don't tend to read adult fiction but the blurb for this really intrigued me when I saw it available for request on Netgalley. I'm glad I let myself out of my comfort zone of reading because this book was amazing. I'm definitely going to check out more of Lucy's books.

The story was quite slow which usually I don't like, but the story had so many shocks and twists throughout that I had no idea who the person following Elle could be. I loved how everyone was a suspect, and I felt so sorry for Elle, paranoia and insomnia are not fun things. I loved how we slowly found out about her past and how every time I thought it was one person, something would prove they were innocent. Then just before (literally a few pages before) the actual culprit was revealed, I figured it out - it was still unexpected who it actually was and I liked the little epilogue that is set a year later, which just ties everything up.

Note to self: NEVER rent out my house! Change all my keys and if anyone has a spare ask for it back! This is a classic your'e alone in the house but are you really? Did you lock that door, open that window or move that object? Has someone been here or is it all just your imagination? Elle is sure that someone is doing all these things to her but at the same time she has been under a lot of stress so it could all be in her head. This story is told in the present with glimpses back to Elles past where you are told about something that happened when she was a teen. It is also interspersed with glimpses of things through the perpetrators eyes as they are in her house. As the story progresses more of Elles secrets come out and you are given more reasons of why people could be doing this to her. While I did work out what was happening I didn't work it out too early on and there are enough red herrings that with each incident you realise it could be anyone.

A creepy, captivating story, complete with unsettling stalker like vibes. Really enjoyed the audio
mysterious slow-paced

This is the third book I have read from LC and the one I liked the least. I could not connect with the main characters for some reason and I was not satusfied by the reveal. It just didn't work for me unfortunately.
A couple of red herrings and then...The effing sister was behind all of it because Elle stole the manuscript from their mother and became a famous author?! Nah. And then the sister stole Elle's manuscript, added to it and published it a year later?! And she got back with her husband after their separation and moved to NZ? Shut up, no, hahaha.

The protagonists are unsympathetic.
